Lovely palette!

I love experiencing different types of watercolor and this one did not disappoint. The colors are very creamy and vibrant. I’m usually a warm, rich color girl, so these are not colors I would have picked. BUT, I’m enjoying these colors very much. They mix wonderfully and I’m learning alot about color mixing. Thank you Kristy Rice! This is a home run palette!

I somehow managed to get this before it officially launched (wahoo!)

So, my review: the packaging is really super cute! The tin the paints come in can be used over and over again–and perfect for on the go! The rose gold inside is such a fun touch!

Now the best part. The paint! The colors are richly pigmented and oh so smooth to work with! I loved how I could blend on the page, and how much versatility the color choices give me! I cannot tell how many times I’ve just opened the palette and looked at the colors. SO beautiful!

I gotta say, I’ve followed Kristie Rice for a bit and saw the whole process of her designing and picking and Asking her followers for their input, and it has been an absolute joy seeing the Making Art for Joy’s Sake palette come to life. I started trying watercolor again because of Kristie’s attitude toward watercolor and art in general (and because her brushes and watercolor palette literally make it SO easy to just paint!)

Probably the last thing I needed was a new watercolor palette… I’m very happy with my Schmincke, Daniel Smith, and Winsor & Newton paints. I’m so happy I bought these though! The quality rivals the three brands I listed above and the colors are quite beautiful! I’m looking forward to creating many paintings with these paints.
